The movie “Boy Erased” is the story about a boy who begins to find his voice and self-identity when his parents send him to a church-supported gay conversion therapy program. It is based on a true story. Thera are so many threads to this movie. The social injustice that I observed in this movie consist of discrimination and lack of support that many LGBTQ individuals face, family conflict and rejection from the community, the struggle to discover your true self, and the attempt by these conversion programs to change an individual’s sexual orientation and gender identity.
